Monitoringin the Enterprise Se rver

Usemonitoring to observe the runtime state of various components and services deployed in a
serverinstance of theEnterprise Server. With the information on the state of runtime
componentsand processes, it is possible to identify performance bottlenecks for tuning
purposes, aid capacity planning, predict failures, do root cause analysis in case of failures, and
ensurethat everything is functioning as expected.
Turningmonitoring on reduces performance by increasing overhead.
Youcan also use management rules to alert you of potential problems with your server, and
optionallytake action when the server reaches certain performance thresholds. For more
information,see Chapter 19, “Conguring Management Rules.”
