VersionCommands

Theversion commands return the version string, display a list of all the asadmin commands,

andallow you to install the license le.

TABLEC–5 VersionCommands

Command Denition

version Displaysthe version information. If the command cannot communicate with

theadministration server with the given user/password and host/port, then

thecommand will retrieve the version locally and display a warning message.

help Displaysa list of all the asadmin utility commands. Specify the command to

displaythe usage information for that command

install-license Preventsunauthorized use of the Application Server. Allows you to install the

licensele.

shutdown Gracefullybrings down the administration server and all the running

instances.You must manually start the administration server to bring it up

again.

Message Queue AdministrationCommands

TheMessage Queue administration commands allow you to manage the JMS destinations.

Command Denition

create-jmsdest Createsa JMS physical destination. Along with the physical destination, you

usethe create-jms-resource command to create a JMS destination resource

thathas a Name property that species the physical destination.

delete-jmsdest Removesthe specied JMS destination.

flush-jmsdest Purgesthe messages from a physical destination in the specied target's JMS

Serviceconguration.

list-jmsdest Liststhe JMS physical destinations.

jms-ping Checksif the JMS service (also known as the JMS provider) is up and running.

Whenyou start the Application Server, the JMS service starts by default.

Additionally,it pings only the default JMS host within the JMS service. It

displaysan error message when it is unable to ping a built-in JMS service.
