Operation basics

1Select CD Menu or MD Menu

Front panel operation:

Press the CD MENU key or the MD MENU key to call up the desired menu.

Remote control operation:

Press the MENU key and either the CD Menu or the MD Menu is called up, depend- ing upon the position of the CD/MD selector switch.

The sub-menu screen appears.

CD PLAY?

NOTE

In Menu mode, the CD or MD indicators flash to indi- cate which menu is called up.

When a menu is chosen for a deck that is not the dis- play master, the display master indicator will remain lit, while the indicator for the menu mode deck will begin flashing. If the menu for the display master deck is selected, its indicator will begin flashing.

2Select the desired sub-menu

Front panel operation:

Use the MULTI JOG dial to select, then press the ENTER key or the YES key.

Front panel operation:

Use the MULTI JOG dial to select, then press the ENTER key.

Remote control operation:

Use the MENU +/- key to select, then press the ENT/YES key.

The setting screen will be displayed.

NOTE

To return to the menu option selection screen, press the NO key on either the front panel or the remote control unit. However, if the NO key is pressed for an EDIT menu option, you will exit the Menu mode.

4Settings

Front panel operation:

Use the MULTI JOG dial to select, then press the ENTER key.

Remote control operation:

Use the MENU +/- key to select, then press the ENT/YES key.

NOTE

Some menu options exist for confirmation purposes only, and setting cannot be performed.

Remote control operation:

Use the MENU +/- key to select, then press the ENT/YES key.

The screen for the selected menu option will be displayed.

PLAY MODE?

NOTE

To return to the sub-menu selection screen from a menu option selection screen, press the NO key on either the front panel or the remote control unit.

3Select the desired menu option.

For MD Editing Menu operation, refer to “MiniDisc editing” on page 41.

For Title Menu operation, refer to “Title input” on page 45.

5How to exit Menu mode after setting (or con- firmation), during menu option display.

Front panel operation:

Press the CD MENU or MD MENU key cor- responding to the current Menu mode.

Remote control operation:

Press the MENU key.

The CD or MD indicator will stop flashing.
