Section 6 Operating Procedures
The Model 5454 has a 15 gallon (56.9 liter) storage

prime the freezer with fresh mix in preparation to s erve

If you are disassemblingthe machine for the first time
or need information to get to this starting point in our
instructions, turn to page 33,“ Disassembly”, and start
there.

BE SURETHE POWER SWITCH IS IN THE
“OFF” POSITION. CHECK TO MAKE SURE NO
LIGHTS ARE LIT ON THE CONTROL PANEL.
Note: When lubricating parts, use an approved f ood
grade lubricant (example: Taylor Lube).
Step 1
Install the drive shaft. Lubricate the groove and shaft
portion on the beater drive shaft. Slide t he seal on the
shaft and over the groove until it snaps into place. DO
NOT lubricate the hex end of the drive shaft. Fill the
inside portion of the seal with 1/4” more lubricant and
evenly lubricate the end of the seal that fits ont othe
rear shell bearing.
