Cleaning the inside of the unitCleaning the document feeder unit

If misfeeding occurs frequently or dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied or transmitted document, clean the feeder rollers, sub roller, rubber ﬂap, white plate and glass.

1	Disconnect the power cord and the telephone
1	line cord.
2	Slide the front lid open lever towards the front
2	to open the front lid.
3	Clean the feeder rollers and sub roller with a
3	cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing
	alcohol, and let them dry thoroughly.
4	Clean the rubber ﬂap with a cotton swab
4	moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and
	let it dry thoroughly.
5	Clean the white plate and the glass with a dry
5	soft cloth.
6	Close the lid securely by pushing down on
6	both sides.
7	Connect the power cord and telephone line
7	cord.

Cleaning the thermal head

If dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied, received or printed document, clean the thermal head.

1	Disconnect the power cord and the telephone
1	line cord.
2	Open the top cover.
3	Press the green button on the right marked
3	“PUSH” and lift up the head unit.
4	Clean the thermal head with a cloth
4	moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and
	let dry thoroughly.
5	Press the head unit down ﬁrmly until it clicks
5	into place.
6	Close the top cover securely by pushing
6	down on both sides.
7	Connect the power cord and telephone line
7	cord.

Caution

Do not push the black cover.

Caution:

¡To prevent a malfunction due to static electricity, do not use a dry cloth and do not touch the thermal head directly with your ﬁnger.
