This method is very useful when making many measurement son t he
same package. Using a ground plane on the package makes probing
the package easier and avoids adding unnecessary ground le ad length
and distortion.
SureFoot Grounding
If you cannot use the recommended low-inductance grounding
method, you may ground the probe to the package unde r test using a
SureFoot adapter. Refer to Figure 8.

Use a SureFoot adapter at the end of a short ground lead to connec t
directly to the package ground. This met hod is preferred over using
an adjacent circuit groundbe cause it is the shortest ground path
possible.
