Theopticaldriveconnectstothesystemboard.Thedrivemaybedisconnected,orthedrive orsystemboardmaybedamaged.Disassemblethecomputerfollowingthestepsdescribedin Chapter4,ReplacementProcedures,andperformthefollowingchecks:
Check1 Makesurethedriveisfirmlyconnectedtothesystemboard.Iftheconnectionis goodandthereisstillanerror,gotoCheck2.
Check2 Thedriveordrivecablemaybedefectiveordamaged.Replaceeachwithanew onefollowingthestepsinChapter4,ReplacementProcedures.Ifthedriveisstill notfunctioningproperly,performCheck3.
Check3 Thesystemboardmaybedamaged.Replaceitwithnewonefollowingthe instructionsinChapter4,ReplacementProcedures.
