Bunun için iki duvar arasýnda (A ve B) 20 m uzunluðunda serbest bir hat gerekmektedir ve yatay iþletmede X ve Y eksenin her ikisinde bir aktarma ölçümü yapýlmaktadýr (4 ölçme).

Lazeri düz bir zemin/altlýk üzerinde veya tesviye edilmiþ bir ayaklýk üzerinde yatay olarak bir duvarýn (A) yakýnýnda yerleþtiriniz ve Lazer noktasýný X-ekseni-istikametinde yakýn olan duvara (A) doðrultunuz. Tesviye edildikten sonra yükseklik (ýþýn ortasý) duvarda iþaretlenmektedir. Daha sonra aleti 180° çeviriniz, tesviye etmeye býrakýnýz ve ýþýnýn ortasýný uzaktaki duvarda (B) iþaretleyiniz.

Eðer alet endüstriyel hassasiyetin (10 m de ± 1,5 mm ) sýnýrýnda bulunuyorsa, o zaman sýfýr durumuna olan, 20 + 20 = 40 m de en fazla tolerans 6 mm dir.
