About Certificates

On your device you can add and delete public key certificates. These certificates help establish your identity when you are logging onto a secured network, such as a corporate network. Certificates also help establish the identity of other computers, such as servers, with which you connect. This helps prevent unauthorized users from accessing your device and information.

You can store two types of certificates on your device: personal certificates that establish your identity, and root certificates that establish the identity of servers with which you connect. Your device may include a set of preinstalled certificates. For information about viewing and deleting certificates, see Manage Personal Certificates and Manage Root Certificates.
