Modifying Your Vanguard 3400 Series

Routine Battery	The lithium battery should be replaced every two years. Follow the instructions in
Replacement	Figure 3-11to replace the battery.
Before Removing/
	Before you remove or install the battery, you must access the Vanguard 3400 Series
Installing the	motherboard as described in the “Accessing the Motherboard” section on page 3-13.
Battery	Once you can see the motherboard, locate the battery as shown in Figure 3-11.
Removing/
	Figure 3-11shows how to install and replace the battery.
Installing the
Battery

To remove the battery

Using your fingers, push the retaining tabs upwards and pry the battery out of the holder.

To install the battery

Place the battery in the holder with the positive (+) side up,.

Note

When done, replace the motherboard as explained in the “Accessing the Motherboard” section on page 3-13.
