Performing a Locate

Once your Wherifone account has been activated and is part of Wherify’s Global GPS location system, you may perform locates online or by calling the phone number provided by your location service provider.

Note on Performing your First Locate

We recommend performing your first locate with the device outside and exposed to as much open sky as possible. This is also suggested in cases when you have turned off your phone and have traveled more than 300 miles (500 km) away from your original destination when the Wherifone was last used.

How to Perform a Locate Via the Internet

1.Log onto the web site provided by your location service provider.

2.Enter your Subscriber ID and PIN. For further details follow instructions provided by your location service provider.

3.Click the Locate button on your location service provider website. You have now initiated a location request to your Wherifone. Within a short period of time you will be able to view the location of your Wherifone on a street map and an aerial map.

How to Perform a Locate Directly from the Wherifone

Say you want the Wherifone-carrying user to initiate a locate on their end by pressing a button on the device. Logon to the location-based service site. Program the desired button to perform this function through the “Set Button for Locate” menu option. Now the a locate can be performed directly from the Wherifone, and you can view the location results online.
