Remote/Local Operation

If the rear panel PON REM switch is set to 1, the power supply will power up in local mode. Power supply control is at the front panel. During an operating session, you can toggle between local mode and remote mode by sending commands as described in “Remote Mode Operation” on page 22 and “Local Mode Operation” on page 23.

Remote Mode While in remote mode, use the interface commands to control the output of the Operation power supply from a computer. See Section 3, “Operation” for a complete list of device-dependent commands available with this interface. For information about how to use GPIB commands and GPIB lines, refer to the documentation for the

particular GPIB controller interface installed on your computer.

While in remote mode, you can change to local mode operation by sending the

GPIB GTL (Go to Local) command, or by negating the GPIB REN (Remote

Enable) line.
