Low Power Standby
If Low Power Standby is ‘On,’ the Recorder will consume minimum power in standby mode. It is recommended to set the Low power standby setting to “On.” Standby power consumption is 3 W when the setting is “On” and 6 W when the setting is “Off.”
Notes:
When the Recorder is in low power standby mode:
-the display will be off,
-the standby indicator on the recorder will still light up in standby mode.

PBC
This feature is only available when a (Super) Video CD is loaded. It allows you to disable or enable the PBC (Playback Control) menu of VCD discs. See under ‘Special VCD features’: Factory settings is ‘On.’
Finalize disc
This option is only available on unfinalized DVD+R discs. See ‘Managing disc content - Finalizing a DVD+R disc.’
Remote Control setting
Key sound
The Recorder beeps each time you press a button on the Recorder or remote control.
Select ‘Off’ to disable this sound.The factory setting is On.
Note:
When you move further down in the Remote Control setting menu, the system status screen will appear. Press v (up cursor) to go back.

By selecting a recording mode you define the picture quality of recordings and the maximum recording time for a disc.

In practice, the DVD recorder may record a few minutes more than indicated.
You can only play a disc in the mode in which it was recorded.

2Select the recording mode by pressing t or u (left or right cursor).
3Confirm your selection by pressing the ENTER/OK.
4Press SYSTEM MENU to return to the previous menu.
You can also select record mode on the Index Picture Screen and in monitor mode, or by pressing the REC MODE button on the remote control:
●Press SELECT.
➤ The new record mode appears on the screen and the display.
Record mode: EP+
It is not possible to switch record modes during recording.
Auto chapters
If Auto chapters is ‘On,’ every five to six minutes a chapter marker (beginning of a new chapter) is inserted during recording.This enables easy navigation through a title during playback. Or, you can manually insert chapter markers after recording. (See ‘Managing disc content - Editing’)
Filter mode
When recording EP or EP+, select the ‘Sport’ setting to optimize the video recording for images that contain fast movement, like sports programs.The setting does not influence recording when using HQ or SP+ mode.
