5.6S-Register Descriptions

In most bit-mapped S-registers, the default bit value is 0. An asterisk follows non-0 default values. In some cases, default values are shown in the reference column preceded by +. Some bits are reserved for factory use and should not be changed.

5.6.1Basic S-Registers "ATSn=x"

S0=	Sets the number of rings on which the modem will answer. A value of 0 disables	+000
	auto-answering.
S1=	Counts and stores the number of rings from an incoming call.	+000
S2=	Defines the escape code character, default ' +' (43 dec.). A value of 128-255 disables	+043
	the escape code.
S3=	Defines the ASCII Carriage Return.	+013
S4=	Defines the ASCII Line Feed.	+010
S5=	Defines the ASCII Backspace key. A value of 128-255 disables the Backspace key' s	+008
	delete function.
S6=	Sets the number of seconds the modem waits before dialing if ' X0' or ' X1' is	+003
	selected. If a setting of ' X2,' 'X7' is selected; the modem will dial as soon as it detects
	a dial tone. This register also sets the time-out interval for the "W" dial modifier to
	wait for the dial tone. (See also S41b4)
S7=	Sets duration, in number of seconds modem waits for a carrier.	+060
S8=	Sets duration, in seconds, for pause (,) option in Dial command and pause between	+002
	command re-executions for Repeat (>) command.
S9=	Sets duration, in tenths of a second of remote carrier signal before recognition.	+006
	(Ignored if in non-FSK or half-duplex operation)
S10=	Sets duration, in tenths of a second, that the modem waits after the carrier is lost	+007
	before hanging up.
