Using E-Mail Features

Mandatory Configuration Settings

The following items must be configured in order to send e-mails:

Set the SMTP server address.

#set send-mail smtp-server-name <smtp.servername.com>

Set the port number the SMTP server is using.

#set send-mail smtp-server-port <25>

Set the host name that you are sending from.

#set send-mail host-name <hostname>

Set the e-mail address that you are sending from.

#set send-mail from-address <john.smith@bellsouth.net>

Set an identity for this e-mail address that you are sending from.

#set send-mail from-address-identity <Smith>

The following items must be configured in order to receive e-mails:

Set the POP3 server address.

#set recv-mail server-name <mail.servername.com>

Set the port number the POP3 server is using.

#set recv-mail server-port <110>

Set the user name for the POP3 server.

#set recv-mail mailbox-name <username>

Set the password for the username’s account on the POP3 server.

#set recv-mail mailbox-password <password>

Configure if you want to leave the messages on the POP3 server or not.

#set recv-mail leave-on-server <enable/disable>
