3.Remove the memory cooling shroud. See Removing the Memory Module Cooling Shrouds.
NOTICE: Never remove the memory cooling shroud without first powering down the system. Overheating of the system can develop quickly resulting in a shutdown of the system and the loss of data.
4. Locate the memory module sockets on the system board. See Figure
CAUTION: The DIMMs are hot to the touch for some time after the system has been powered down. Allow the DIMMs to cool before handling them. Handle the DIMMs by the card edges, and avoid touching the DIMM components.
5.Press down and out on the ejectors on each end of the socket until the memory module pops out of the socket. See Figure
6.Replace the memory cooling shroud. See Installing the Processor Cooling Shroud.

Integrated NIC TOE
The TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) functionality of the system's integrated NIC is activated by the LOM NIC hardware key installed in the TOE_KEY socket on the system board (see Figure
Processors
You can upgrade your processors to take advantage of future options in speed and functionality. Each processor and its associated internal cache memory are contained in a land grid array (LGA) package that is installed in a ZIF socket on the system board.
Removing a Processor
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
1.Prior to upgrading your system, download the latest system BIOS version on support.dell.com.
2.Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
3.Open the system. See Opening the System.
4.Remove the memory module cooling shrouds. See Removing the Memory Module Cooling Shrouds.

NOTICE: Never remove the heat sink from a processor unless you intend to remove the processor. The heat sink is necessary to maintain proper thermal conditions.
8.Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen one of the two
9.Wait 30 seconds for the heat sink to loosen from the processor.
10.Loosen the other
11.Gently lift the heat sink off of the processor and set the heat sink aside.
NOTICE: The processor is held in its socket under strong pressure. Be aware that the release lever can spring up suddenly if not firmly grasped.
