STEP 6: Connect to a Telephone Line

With the card still in your mobile computer, connect to an analog telephone line.

STEP 7: Dial and Connect!

1.After setting up your dial-up connection in Step 5, your new connection should be listed in the Connections screen. Select your modem connection, then tap Connect.

2.In the Dial-up Connect screen, verify the phone number. Tap Connect.

3.A series of screens will appear, reporting the status of your call. The Power and Data Status LEDs will blink.

4.When your device has connected, it will report Connected. Two icons will also appear at the bottom of your screen.

Connection status icon: indicates active remote networking connection

Modem status icon:

 

GREEN — connected

RED — data transmitting

When your device has connected, the Link and Power Status LEDs will stay on, and the Data Status LED will flash during data transmission.
