Printer Reset

Clearing some error conditions requires that you reset (reinitialize) the printer. To do this:

1Press and release SEL (1) to take the printer off-line. The SEL light goes out.

2Press and hold SHIFT (2), then press RESET/CHARACTER

PITCH.

Important!

Pressing SHIFT + RESET reinitializes the printer, but does not affect any menu settings and does not reset the printer to the factory defaults. For information on resetting the printer to the factory defaults, see “Resetting the Menu to the Factory Defaults” later in this chapter.

•Epson® LQ — factory setting

•IBM® Proprinter

•IBM® AGM

Changing Emulations

1Make sure paper is loaded.

2Press and hold SHIFT (2), then press SEL (1).

3Press LF (3).

The following line prints:

Printer Control Emulation Mode EPSON LQ

4Press TEAR (4) repeatedly until the emulation you wish to select prints in the right-hand column.

5Press and hold SHIFT (2), then press SEL (1) to save your setting and exit the Menu Mode.
