PRINTER CONTROL

CONTROL PANEL

Lamps

This section refers to the following lamps on the printer control panel:

Note

When the power cord is not plugged into the AC outlet or the printer is in sleep mode, all lamps including the READY lamp are off.

READY Lamp

The green READY lamp indicates the current status of the printer. The printer will wake up automatically from sleep mode when data is received, a switch is pressed, or when the power cord is plugged in. The list below shows each printer status (= on, = off):

Blinking

The printer is receiving and processing data from

the computer. (Blinking at 0.5 seconds intervals)

Blinking

The printer is warming up.

(Blinking at 1 seconds intervals)

On

The printer is on-line.

 

ALARM Lamp

The red ALARM lamp blinks to indicate a printer error status. If an error occurs, the printer indicates the error by causing the ALARM lamp to blink. At the same time (if your computer is turned on and attached to the printer), the status monitor appears on your computer screen to show you the error message.
