READYSLEEP Switch

This printer has a READYSLEEP switch on the control panel.

Note

This printer has no power switch. You just plug the power cord into the AC outlet. The sleep mode feature controls all power.

If a recoverable error, such as cover open or paper empty should occur, take the appropriate action to correct it. The printer should automatically recover from the error without unplugging the printer.

The READYSLEEP switch can work in two ways: to enter sleep mode or to print a test page.

Sleep Mode

Sleep mode causes the printer to act as though it has been turned off. While the printer is in sleep mode, all the lamps are off, however the printer can still receive data from the computer.

If you press the READYSLEEP switch when the Ready light is a solid green, the printer enters sleep mode.

If you press the READYSLEEP switch during printing, the printer immediately stops printing, even if it has started a print job. It ejects the page, then enters sleep mode.

Caution

Remember that the READYSLEEP switch clears data from the printer memory and puts the printer into sleep mode.
