Problems and troubleshooting

Use the following check list for troubleshooting when you have problems with your unit. Consult your local dealer or service outlet if problems persist.

Be sure all connections are properly made when using with other units.

	• The video channel is not in the correct position or the TV is not set to	14
No picture.	the video channel 3 or 4.
	• The video input selector of the TV is not set to VIDEO. Set to VIDEO (or	–
	equivalent).
	• Channel is set to the external mode.	–

No sound.	• Check the input selector of the amplifier is set properly.	–
	• The unit is in the Special playback mode.	18,24
	• Aim at the remote control at the remote sensor.
	• Operate within Approx. 5 Meters or reduce the light in the room.
The remote control does not function.	• Clear the path of the beam.	9
	• The batteries are weak. Replace the batteries.
	• Check the batteries are inserted correctly.
No CABLE reception.	• Check all CABLE connections.	11
	• Station or CABLE system problems, try another station.

VCR

TV recording does not work.	• The erase prevention tab of the video cassette is broken off.	17,19
	• The unit is in the external input mode.
	• The time is not set correctly.	15,16
Timer recording does not work.	• The recording start/end time is not set correctly.	20
	• TIMER REC has not been pressed ( is not lit).	20
	• Tracking adjustment beyond range of automatic tracking circuit. Try	18

DVD

Display is not shown in your language.	• Select proper language in the menu options.
	• No disc is inserted.
Playback doesn’t start.	• The disc may be dirty. Clean up the disc.
	• The unit cannot play DVD-ROMs, etc.
Stopping playback, search, slow-	• Some discs may not do some of the functions.

No picture, or the screen is blurred or	• The S-VIDEO/COMPONENT selecter is not set correctly.
