28 On-Screen Status Displays

An on-screen status display, which includes the current time, channel, and other information (see illustration of the status dis- play at right), will appear when you press the EXIT/STATUS but- ton or certain function buttons. The contents of the status display may vary.

ON SCREEN ON:

Whenever you press the PLAY button or the STOP button, some of the contents of the status display will appear for five seconds.

COUNTER ONLY:

The tape counter will appear on-screen at all times (except in Search, Slow or Still mode). Whenever you press the PLAY but- ton or the STOP button, some of the contents of the status dis- play will appear for five seconds. After five seconds, only the

counter will remain on the screen.

ON SCREEN OFF:

No status display will appear when you press function buttons

or the EXIT/STATUS button.

To select one of the status display modes, follow these steps.

Press the VCR button, then press the MENU button.

Press the Number 2 button to select VCR SET UP.

Press the Number 1 button to select ON SCREEN ON, the Number 2 button to select COUNTER ONLY, or the Number 3 button to select ON SCREEN OFF. (ON) will appear beside the selected status display mode.

Press the EXIT/STATUS button to exit.

In On Screen On and Counter Only modes:

You may bring up the status dis- play at any time by pressing the EXIT/STATUS button. (The excep- tion is during Slow, Search, or Still mode.) The display will appear for about five seconds.

Channel numbers (when tuned) will appear for a few seconds.

When tape playback is stopped, press the EXIT/STATUS button to see the time, counter information, or channel number on the display panel. During tape playback, press the EXIT/STATUS button to see the time or counter information on the display panel. The channel will not appear.
