FEATURES OF COMPRESSION
‐The ratios between data rates used for authoring video and for distributing compressed videos can be huge. Essentially compressing a video is taking away from the original video and often only small percentages of the original video data remain.
‐In addition, different types of compressed video may vary in bit rate.
‐Video format is distinct from compression type: i.e. one video format may support multiple compression types and ratios, and a type of compression may be used in multiple formats. But most standard video formats include requirements that specify compression types and data rates.
