Firewire 1394

There are three types of Firewire cables, namely 4to 6; 4 to 4; and 6 to 6 (these numbers refer to the size of the end bits) [we use 4 to 6 aka small to big]
There are two speeds, namely 400 and 800. We use 400; 800 is for more modern machines or Macs and this is the same speed as a USB 2 port.
