Exporting to Quicktime format
‐Less advanced than RealMedia and Windows Media for real‐time streaming.
‐The greatest strength of QuickTime is that it supports rich interactivity and rich media.
‐By default, QuickTime data rate is set as total kilobytes per second, not the total kilobits per second of RealMedia or the kilobits per stream per second of Windows Media. However, many tools that support multiple formats provide the rate in Kbits.
‐Quicktime can be used for real‐time streaming, progressive download and disc‐based delivery.
Quicktime video codecs
‐Given the long heritage of QuickTime for flexibility and support for third‐party codec vendors, the range of codecs supported in QuickTime is broader than in the other formats. However, the best codecs are often not provided for free. Below is the QuickTime codec range:
