5 When the setting is complete, press SETUP.

The setup returns to normal mode.

When settings are changed, old settings are overwritten. Make a note of the current settings before making changes. If the vehicle’s battery is disconnected, the settings will be cleared and will return to the factory settings.

Setting the DVD Audio Playback Mode

To playback the DVD Audio Disc, you have a choice of 3 different settings. If the disc containing DVD Video and Audio, set VCAP (Video Capable Audio Player) or VOFF (Video OFF) to playback the DVD Audio.

Setting item: DVD-A PLAY MODE

Setting contents: VIDEO/VCAP/VOFF

CLR

Numeric keypad (0 to 9)

VIDEO: Only DVD Video is played back if the disc contains DVD Video and Audio.

VCAP: DVD Audio is played back with Video.

Custom Setup Operation

Custom Setup Operation is performed by the remote control unit.

The following 5 steps are common to each of the Custom Setup settings. Refer to the specific section for details.

1 Press SETUP before inserting a disc, or when in stop mode.

The setup menu appears on the monitor.

2 Press or to select “CUSTOM SETUP,” then press ENT.

3 Press or to select your desired setting item, then press ENT.

4 Press or to change the setting, then press ENT.

VOFF: DVD Audio is played back without Video. The initial setting at the factory is VCAP.

Perform this setting before inserting a disc. If a disc has already been inserted, perform the setting after you remove the disc.

Setting the CD Play Mode

The unit can be set to play only the audio data or only the MP3/WMA files on discs containing both audio data and MP3/WMA data.

Setting item: CD PLAY MODE

Setting contents: CD-DA/COMPRESSED

CD-DA:Only CD data can be played back.

COMPRESSED: Only MP3/WMA data can be played back. The initial setting at the factory is CD-DA.

If a disc has already been inserted, perform the setting after you remove the disc.

Setting the Video CD Play Mode

When playing a Playback Control (PBC) enabled video CD, you can choose to set PBC ON or OFF.

Setting item: VCD PLAY MODE

Setting contents: PBC ON/PBC OFF

PBC ON: The PBC menu is displayed.

PBC OFF: The PBC menu is not displayed.

The initial setting at the factory is PBC ON.

Playing the Bonus Group

In addition to the usual group, DVD Audio also includes an addition Bonus Group. When the Bonus Group is selected, although the password input screen is displayed, you can pre-input a 4-digit password.

Setting item: BONUS CODE

Setting contents: CODE

1Press or to select “BONUS CODE”, then press ENT.

2Use the numeric keypad “0” to “9” to input 4-digit password, then press ENT.

Can be erased one digit at a time each time CLR is pressed. Press CLR for at least 2 seconds to delete all digits.

Press RETURN to return to the previous screen.

3When the setting is complete, press SETUP. The setup returns to normal mode.

If the Bonus Group password differs from the password in the section you set, the input screen is automatically displayed.
