Getting More Out Of Your Phone

Automatic Answer

Set your phone to automatically answer calls after 2 rings (4 seconds) when connected to a car kit, speakerphone, or headset.

Power-Off Delay

When connected to a car kit, you can set your phone to stay on for a period of time after you switch off the ignition. This prevents the phone from draining your vehicle battery, but leaves the phone on long enough that you do not have to re-enter your unlock code when making short stops.

Note: This feature may not work with all car ignition switches.

Caution: If you select Continuous, the phone does not power off when you turn off the ignition. Be careful not to drain your vehicle battery if you select this option.

Charger Time

When connected to a car kit, you can set your phone to charge itself for a specified time period after you switch off the ignition. This helps ensure that the phone battery gets fully charged while the vehicle is parked.

Making Data and Fax Calls

An optional Motorola Original data kit (which

includes a cable connector) lets you transfer data

between your phone and a computer, Palm OS compatible device, or Microsoft® Windows® CE,

Pocket PC, or Handheld PC device. You can:

Synchronize phonebook and datebook information between your phone and a computer or PDA.

Use your phone as a modem to connect to the Internet.

Use your phone to send and receive data and fax calls from your computer or handheld device.

Making a Cable Connection

Installing the Software

To transfer data between your phone and computer, you must install the software included with the Motorola Original data kit. See the data kit user’s guide for more information.

Attaching the Cable

Use a Motorola Original serial cable or Motorola Original USB cable to connect your phone to the external device.

Note: Not all devices are compatible with a cable connection. Check your computer or hand-held device to determine the type of cable you need.
