Installation and connection

Connection to the water supply

The washing machine should be connected to a mains water supply in accordance with current local and national safety regulations. The German authorities do not require it to have a non- return valve as the washing machine has been designed to comply with DIN regulations.

The machine is designed to operate with a flow pressure of between 100 and 1,000 kPa. If it is higher than 1,000 kPa it is essential to fit a pressure reducing valve.

Connection to the mains water supply should incorporate a mains stopcock

with 3/4" threaded union. The stopcock should be fitted by a qualified plumber.

The connection point is subject to mains water pressure. Turn on the stopcock slowly and check for leaks. Correct the position of the washer and union if appropriate.

The washing machine is not suitable for connection to a hot water supply.

Maintenance

Only use a genuine Miele hose should you ever need a replacement or extension. These are tested to withstand pressure of at least 7,000 kPa.

In order to protect the water inlet valve, the two dirt filters (one in the open end of the inlet hose, the other in the inlet point in the machine) must not be removed.

Extension hose

Longer hoses 2.5 or 4.0 m in length are available from your Miele Dealer or Miele as optional extras.
