Navigation Page, recording a trail, traveling east. Page looks like this when the unit is not navigating to a waypoint , following

a route, or backtracking a trail.

When navigating to a waypoint, the Navigation screen looks like the following figure. Your ground speed, track, distance and bearing to waypoint, and course are all shown digitally on this screen.

NOTE:

Remember, when the Speed, Track and Position information dis- plays are flashing, satellite lock has not been

achieved and no position fix has been deter- mined. A question mark will also flash on the present position arrow in the center of the compass rose.

The Off Course window shows the current cross track error, illustrated in the figure below. This shows the distance you are off-course to the side of the desired course line. The course line is an imagi- nary line drawn from your position when you started navigating to the destination waypoint. The course line is shown on the Navigation Page screen (and the Plotter Page screen) as a dotted

line. The cross track error range is shown on the compass rose as a wide, white, corridor enclosing the course line. The outer edges of this
