TAKING CARE OF

YOUR METER

Your ONE TOUCHBASICPlus Meter is easy to maintain. These tips will help you keep it in good operating condition:

CAUTION:

Do not get water or other liquids inside the meter.

Never immerse the meter or hold it under running water or other liquids.

Keep the test strip holder and test area clean (see page 60).

Keep your meter dry and avoid exposing it to extremes in tempera- ture or humidity. For example, do not leave it in your car.

Do not drop the meter or get it wet, as this could damage the electron- ics. If you drop the meter or get it wet accidentally, make sure the test strip holder is still securely in place. If you drop the meter or get it wet, check the meter by doing check strip tests (see page 12) and control solution tests (see page 15) to be sure it is operating properly.

Do not take the meter apart. Sensi- tive parts could be damaged, caus- ing inaccurate results. Taking the meter apart will void the warranty.

Do not clean the meter with alcohol. Alcohol will damage the meter.
