Special Messages

The meter displays results from 0 to 600 mg/dL (33.3 mmol/L). If your blood glucose test result is 60 mg/dL (3.3 mmol/L) or below, your meter will beep in a low tone (if the Beep option is set to ) and display a special message:

(Example)

The message is warning you of low blood glucose (hypoglycemia). You may need food or some source of glucose. Retest your blood glucose.

If your blood glucose level is still 60 mg/dL (3.3 mmol/L) or below, call your doctor immediately.

Blood glucose results greater than 600 mg/dL (33.3 mmol/L) are displayed as hi and your meter will beep in a high tone (if the Beep option is set to ).

(Example)

This message indicates very high blood glucose (severe hyper- glycemia). You should call your doctor immediately.
