Basic base operation

Making, answering and ending calls

To make a call, press /SPEAKER, then dial a number. Press /SPEAKER again to hang up.

To answer an incoming call, press /SPEAKER.

To preview numbers before dialing, enter num- bers first, then press /SPEAKER to dial. Press CANCEL anytime to correct any wrong numbers.

Pressing HOLD/PAUSE generates a two-second delay.

Last number redial

Press REDIAL to display a list of ten numbers recently dialed. Use the ^DIR or VCID to select a number, then press /SPEAKER to dial (see pages 52-53 to delete the entry, or save it to your direc- tory).

When a cordless handset, the telephone base, or another telephone connected to the same tele-

phone line is in use, the light will be on.

When the handset or the telephone base is on hold, the IN USE light will flash.

New voicemail light

When there is new voicemail at your local tele- phone company which have not been reviewed, the NEW VOICE MAIL light on the telephone base will flash and the status light on the top left corner of the handset will also flash.

In the event the indication remains after you have listened to your local telephone company’s voicemail messages, you can remove the indication according to the instruction on pages 21-22.
