Overdial operation can also be used to initiate a telephone interconnect call via DTMF signaling if a dial tone has already been accessed on the system. This method makes a telephone interconnect call while operating in the conventional mode but will also function in trunked mode if a dial tone is directly accessible.
Telephone numbers and other number sequences for overdialing can be stored in the phone list when programming the radio. These numbers are accessed by pressing the key, then following the selection mode rules. Perform the following procedures to access and dial these stored numbers.

1.Follow the procedure in Section 8.23.2 to establish a connection to the telephone system or consult the system administrator for the procedure to access a dial tone on the trunked or conventional system.
2.Enter selection mode first to enable entry of Overdial numbers by pressing the button.
3.Follow the selection mode rules to call up a stored number from the phone list: Use the or
buttons to scroll through the list of stored numbers. is displayed. Press the PTT to send the overdial sequence once. If the number needs to be transmitted again it must be selected or entered again (this prevents unwanted numbers from being sent the next time the PTT button is pressed during the call).
Overdial select/entry mode remains active until the call is dropped, cleared, or is pressed. The overdial select/entry mode can be
