7 Generating reports

The HP Insight Control for RHEV reports package provides the capability to generate custom reports containing detailed inventory and health data for your managed HP ProLiant servers (via iLO), enclosures (via Onboard Administrator), and Virtual Connect modules. This capability is provided by integration with the Reporting module within RHEV-M. You can generate, organize, secure and deliver up-to-date ad hoc reports for three entity types: iLO, Onboard Administrator, and Virtual Connect. To create a dynamic ad hoc report, you can drag and drop the data fields in the RHEVM Reports: Ad Hoc Editor window. You can also generate the pre-defined static VC_Profile report. The available reports include:

Installing support for reporting

Pre-requisite RHEV-M packages

In order to install the HP Insight Control for RHEV reporting functionality, the RHEV-M reporting packages must first be installed as follows:

1.Install the following RHEV-M reporting packages on the RHEV-M server:

rhevm-reports-ver.rpm

rhevm-dwh-ver.rpm

2.Execute the reporting package setup scripts:

rhevm-dwh-setup

rhevm-reports-setup

Configure support for HP Insight Control for RHEV reporting

Configure HP Insight Control for RHEV reporting support by completing the following procedure:

1.Switch to directory /opt/hp/hpcs_xxxx.

2. Run the setup file hpicrhev_setup.py using the command:

hpicrhev_setup.py .

When the script has successfully executed, you are ready to create reports using data from HP Insight Control for RHEV.

Creating ad hoc reports

NOTE: This section assumes that you have already discovered an iLO, OA or VC host.

To create an HP Insight Control for RHEV ad hoc report:
