Connecting refrigerator to water source (cont.)

Cold water supply

The ice maker water valve contains a flow washer which is used as a water pressure regulator. The ice maker needs to be connected to a cold water line with water pressure of 20-120 psi (140-827 kPa). If a pressure problem occurs, call your utility company.

IMPORTANT:

l Installation must be in accordance with local plumbing code requirements.

l If operating the refrigerator before installing the water connection, turn ice maker to the OFF position to prevent operation without water.

Electrical Shock Hazard

Unplug the refrigerator before installing ice maker. Failure to do so can result in death, or electrical shock.

1.Turn OFF main water supply.

2.Find a l/2” (1.3 cm) to l-1/4” (3.2 cm) vertical COLD water pipe near the refrigerator.

NOTE: Horizontal pipe will work, but you must drill on the top side of the pipe, not the bottom. This will help keep water away from the drill and keep normal sediment from collecting in the valve.

1.FERMER le robinet principal de distribution d’eau.

2.Trouver une canalisation d’eau FROIDE verticale de 1,3 cm (l/2 po) a 3,2 cm (1 l/4 po) au voisinage du refrigerateur.

REMARQUE :On peut alimenter le rkfrigerateur 2 partir d’une canalisation horizontale, mais on doit alors observer la precaution suivante : perter par le dessus de la canalisation, et non pas par le dessous. Ainsi, I’eau ne risquera pas d’arroser la perceuse. Ceci empeche egalement les sediments qu’on trouve normalement dans I’eau de s’accumuler dans le robinet.
