Replacing the Air Filter

Standard air filter

The air cleaner system uses a replaceable, high density paper air cleaner element surrounded by an oiled foam prefilter.

Service

1.Open the door on the blower housing to access the air cleaner element and prefilter.

2.Unhook the latch and remove asembly.

3.Wash the prefilter in warm water with mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze dry with a clean cloth (do not wring). Allow the prefilter to air dry.

4.To clean the paper filter, gently tap the element on a solid surface to remove dust. Replace elements that are damaged or bent. Check the sealing surface for damage.

5.Saturate the prefilter with new engine oil and squeeze out excess.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Do not used compressed air to clean the paper filter.

Do not wash the paper filter.

Do not oil the paper filter. They should be assembled dry.

6.Refit the prefilter over the paper filter. Check the sealing surface on the base before reassembling.

7.Secure the filter assembly into the engine compartment and close and latch door.

WARNING!

The engine and the exhaust system, become very hot during operation.

Risk for burns if touched.

Allow engine and exhaust system to cool at least two (2) minutes.
