3Remove the slim-line optical drive. See “To remove a slim-line optical drive” section on page 51.

4If a drive carrier cover is installed, remove the cover from the drive bay.

5Place the diskette drive conversion carrier on a clean, static-free work surface.

6Remove the four screws that secure the rails to the diskette drive conversion carrier kit.

7Slide the new FDD into the drive carrier, inserting the rear of the drive first, with the underside of the drive facing down.

8Align the holes in the sides of the FDD with the holes in the drive carrier (A).
