The Questionable Status Register

The Questionable Status register provides information about voltage and current regulation. Bit 0 is set when the voltage becomes unregulated, and bit 1 is set if the current becomes unregulated. For example if the power supply momentarily goes to constant current mode when the power supply is operating as a voltage source (constant voltage mode), bit 0 is set to indicate that the voltage output is not regulated.

The Questionable Status register also provides information that the power supply has an overtemperature condition and that the overvoltage and overcurrent protection circuits have tripped. Bit 4 reports an overtemperature condition of the fan, bit 9 reports that the overvoltage protection circuit has tripped, and bit 10 reports that the overcurrent protection circuit has tripped. To read the register, send STATus:QUEStionable?.

Overtemperature

9	Over Voltage	512	The overvoltage protection circuit has tripped.
10	Over Current	1024	The overcurrent protection circuit has tripped.
11-15 Not Used		0	Always set to 0.

The Questionable Status Event register is cleared when:

•You execute the *CLS (clear status) command.

•You query the event register using STAT:QUES? (Status Questionable Event register) command.

For example, 16 is returned when you have queried the status of the questionable event register, the temperature condition is questionable.

The Questionable Status Enable register is cleared when:

• You execute STAT:QUES:ENAB 0 command.
