TROUBLESHOOTINGGUIDE

There is no sound.

There is constant, wave-like static,

There is noise.

Tape does not run.

Recording is impossible.

The ● REC button cannnot be depressed. (CSD-ES770 only)

Erasure is not done completely.

CD does not play.

●An incorrect function was selected.

●The radio station is not correctly tuned.

●The unit is picking up outside noise.

I QThe II PAUSE button was pressed.

●The erasure prevention tab of the cassette has been broken off.

●The recording head is dirty.

c The D light of the OPE/BATT/DIR indicator lights.

I ● The erasure head is dirty.

●A metal or chrome tape is being used.

●The disc is incorrectly placed.

●The disc is dirty.

●There is condensation on the lens.

●The ~laver is on ~ause.

●Set the FUNCTION switch to select the correct input.

●Correct the tuning,

●Change the location or direction of the antenna.

●Turn the unit to a different orientation.

●Move the unit away from other electrical appliances, like a TV or fluorescent lights, or move the appli- ances.

●Cover the tab opening with cellophane tape.

●Clean the head.

If an erroneous display or malfunction occurs, disconnect the AC cord and remove all the batteries to turn off the display. And turn the power back on.
