Using on AC house current

Before connecting the AC cord (LH model only) *

The LH model has an AC VOLTAGE selector. Make sure that the AC VOLTAGE selector is set to the position matching your local voltage. If it is not correctly set, change it with a screwdriver or a similar tool. Either 110-120V or 220-240V can be selected.

Using on batteries

Insert eight R14 (size C) batteries with the 0 and O marks correctly aligned. +

Replace batteries when the OPE/BATT indicator becomes dim, the tape speed slows down, volume decreases, or sound is distorted during operation.

Make sure that the FUNCTION switch is set to POWER O STANDBY/ TAPE before inserting batteries.

Note on the batteries

QMake sure that the ~ and @ marks are correctly aligned.

o Do not mix different types of batteries or old batteries with new ones.

Never recharge the batteries, apply heat to them or take them apart.

. When not using the batteries, remove them to prevent needless battery wear.

If liquid leaks from the batteries, wipe thoroughly to remove.

The remote control can be used only for CD operation.

Buttons on the remote control and the main unit with identical indications have the same functions.

Inserting batteries

Insert two R6 (size AA) batteries before use.

Replacing batteries

The maximum operation distance of the remote control should be approximately 5 meters (16 feet). When this distance decreases, replace the batteries with new ones.

Hints for correct operation

. When the unit is not to be used for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent electrolyte leakage.

. Do not expose the light receiving section to direct sunlight or to strong artificial lighting.

If objects intervene between the light receiving section and the remote control, the latter may not work correctly.

o The sensor’s light reception range is limited. Point the remote control toward the recorder when using it.
