Digital Audio Output

Each DVD disc has a variety of audio output options. Set the player’s Digital Audio Output according to the type of audio system you use.

CAUTION

If the AV amplifier is not equipped with a Dolby Digital decoder or DTS decoder, do not select “DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM or Stream/PCM” in the “Digital Audio Output” when connecting the AV amplifier with an optical or coaxial connecting cord.

Merely attempting to play a DVD may cause a high level of noise which could be harmful to your ears and damage the speakers. In such a case, be sure to select “PCM”.

	press l.

DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM:

Select this when connecting to an AV amplifier or other equipment that is equipped with a Dolby Digital (AC-3) decoder or a Dolby Pro Logic Surround decoder.

Stream/PCM:

Select this when connecting to an AV amplifier or other equipment that is equipped with a DTS decoder or a MPEG decoder.

PCM:

The default setting is “PCM”. Select this when connecting to an audio system without a Dolby digital(AC-3), DTS or other special decoder.
