Using the Script Menu MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set
Single Slot Sensitivity Test (Standard Mode)
For a single slot sensitivity measurement the MT8850A/MT8852A transmits DH1 packets
with a pseudo random payload (PRBS 9) to the EUT at a minimum power level. If the dirty
transmitter parameters are applied, then every 20 ms the MT8850A/MT8852A changes
the transmitter parameters as specified in the dirty transmitter table for this test. The EUT
loops back the received data and a bit error rate (BER) calculation and frame error rate
(FER) calculation is performed by the MT8850A/MT8852A test set. The test is repeated
for each of the frequencies selected (LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH). This test is performed
with hopping off. The LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH frequencies relate to the default
frequencies specified in the Bluetooth RF test specification. The MT8850A/MT8852A
allows all the frequencies to be changed. This is the test method described in the
Bluetooth RF Test Specification for a single slot sensitivity test with hopping off.
The MT8850A/MT8852A can also carry out this test with hopping on.
1. Choose “Single sensitivity” from the Script menu.
2. Press the key to select or deselect this test from the script routine.
If a test is selected, the box will be filled in. If not selected the box will be hollow.
3. Press the
[Setup] soft key.
The Single sensitivity test conditions screens are displayed.
This screen lets you enter the number of packets to send and set the TX power.
4. Choose “Number of packets”.
5. Enter the number of packets using the keypad.
6. Choose “Test TX power”.
7. Enter the value required using the keypad.
8. Choose “Payload Pkt count”.
This setting allows the user to specify whether the count of the number of packets is
based on the transmitted or received values. The settings are detailed below.
Transmitted: The count is based on the number of transmitted packets. Due to lost
packets, this setting may result in failure to comply exactly with the
Bluetooth test specification that requires that the test should be
conducted for at least 1.6 million packets.
Received: The count is based on the number of packets actually received. This
setting will force the MT8850A/MT8852A to continue testing until 1.6
million packets have actually been measured.
