Configuring the “TV Out” parameters

The wizard will help you configure the following settings. If you ever need to change these settings again, you can always select “Tools” > “Settings” > “TV out”.

“TV Connection”

-select the type of video output (“Composite”, S-Video”,Component”, “RGB” or “HDMI”), based on how you have connected the DVR Station to your TV.

If you use the supplied cables, select “RGB” (for Europe) or “S-Video” (for US). If you use other cables, then select the correspond- ing video output type.

“Resolution” *

-select the resolution that best adapts to your TV: “VGA 4/3 (640x480)”, “480p 16/9 (720x480)” “576p 16/9 (720x576)”, or “720p 16/9 (1280x720)

*This parameter only appears if you choose the “HDMI” TV connection mode.

“TV Standard” **

-choose between the “NTSC (USA)” and “PAL (Europe)” systems (select the one that is compatible with your country’s television system).

“TV Format” **

-4:3” or “16:9” - the format used by your television set to display images.

-the option “Wide screen” becomes available when you set the “TV standard” parameter to “PAL (Europe)”.

** These parameters do not appear if you choose the “HDMI” TV connection mode.

“Audio Output”

- defines whether the audio signal is sent out via the “Analog Line-Out”,HDMI” or “SPDIF” interface depend- ing on how you have connected the DVR Station to your TV.

See chapter 3 (TV Recording: Hardware Setup) to learn how to connect a tuner to the DVR Station in order to schedule a TV recording (manually or via the TV Program Guide).

2.3. using the archos interface

Here are a few tips to use your ARCHOS while it is connected to the DVR Station.

switching the display between the ARCHOS screen and the TV

To switch the display of the ARCHOS between the built-in LCD screen and the TV, you can either press the TV but- ton on the remote control or use the “DVR Station”>“Switch to TV out” icon on the ARCHOS Home Screen.
