Important setup overview
To ensure successful installation and setup of the BlackBerry
Enterprise Server, please follow this setup order. (Detailed
proceduresfollow for each step in the overview.)
• Login with an Administrator account on the Lotus Domino
Serverwhere the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will run.
• Installthe Blackberry Enterprise Server software on the Lotus
DominoServer that acts as the gateway to the wireless
network.
• Createthe BlackBerryAdmins group and add administratorsto
it.
• Startthe BlackBerry Enterprise Server service.
Logging in to the Administrator
account
1. Onthe server where the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will run,
login with a Windows NT administrator account to the account
youusually use for Administrator-level tasks. This account will
be used throughout the installation. For simplicity, we will
referto this account as your “Administrator account”.
TheBlackBerryAdmins group will not be created when you
installthe BlackBerry Enterprise Server; you will need to create
aBlackBerryAdmins group in the Name and Address Book
(DominoDirectory) and add administrators to it.
Note Youmust have Windows NT Administrator privileges as well
asLotus Domino Administrator privileges to log in.
