Messages (SMS) / Mailbox
You can send and receive SMS messages with your Radiophone.
Reading new messages
New messages are indicated in the display with a symbol. When a new message is received you will hear a beep.
When you have received a new message,
➮press SMS.
The message will appear in the display.
To “page through” the messages,
➮press /.
If you want to place a call to the sender,
➮press .
Once you have read the message,
➮press CLR.
A selection will appear in the display. You can choose whether you want to delete the mes- sage or store it in the memory.
➮Press / to select the corresponding option.
➮Press OK.
If you select No, the message will be put into storage.
Sending messages
➮Press OK in the telephone mode.
The DSC menu will appear in the display. The cursor will mark Setup.
➮Press to select Menu.
➮Press OK.
The menu will appear in the display. The cur- sor will mark Mailbox.
➮Press to select Messages.
➮Press OK.
➮Press to select Output.
The OUTPUT menu will appear in the dis- play.
➮Press to select New.
➮Press OK.
➮Now use the buttons 0 - 9 to enter the message. For more information on how to enter text, refer to “Entering names/ telephone numbers” in the chapter enti- tled “Phone book”.
Note:
Message texts can have up to a maximum of 160 characters.
➮Press OK.
➮Use the buttons 0 - 9 to enter the phone number.
➮Press OK.
➮Press / to either send, store or send and store the message.
➮Press OK.
The message will be sent. You will return to the Message output menu.
Entering the service number
To be able to send messages, you must first enter your provider’s service number. The service number is usually stored on the SIM card and used automatically.
If you have to enter the service number again or would like to change it,
➮press OK in the telephone mode.
➮Press to select Menu.
➮Press OK.
➮Press to select Messages.
➮Press OK.
➮Press to select Parameters.
➮Press OK.
➮Press to select Service no.
➮Press OK.
➮Enter the service number with the but- tons 0 - 9.
➮Press OK.
The PARAMETERS menu will appear in the display.
