Failed Devices

The audible alarm will be triggered if any of the following devices fail:

•Cooling fan modules

•PSU modules

•BBU modules

•Hard drives

•Components on the RAID controller

NOTICE!

If the temperature exceeds a preset threshold, the BBU charger circuits will stop charging. You will then receive a message that says “Thermal Shutdown/Enter Sleep Mode.” When the temperature falls back within normal range, the battery will resume charging.

4.4I2C Monitoring

Module presence detection and the general working status of cooling fan and other modules are monitored through an I2C serial bus. If any of these modules fails, the failure will be detected and you will be notified via the various methods described above.
