■Using the optional quilting guide

Use the quilting guide to sew parallel stitches that		Free-motion quilting
are equally spaced.
		With free-motion quilting, lower the feed dogs (using
		the drop feed lever) so that the fabric can be moved
		freely in any direction.
		When free-motion quilting, use the following
		instructions with the optional quilting foot.
	Insert the stem of the quilting guide into the
ahole at the rear of the walking foot or presser
	foot holder.
†	Walking foot
		Remove the presser foot and the presser foot
		aholder.
		• Refer to “Removing and attaching the presser
		foot holder” (page 44).
†	Presser foot holder	Secure the quilting foot with the presser foot
		bholder screw.
		The pin on the quilting foot should be
		positioned over the needle clamp screw.

	Adjust the stem of the quilting guide so that
bthe guide aligns with the seam that has already
	been sewn.
		a Pin on quilting foot
		b Presser foot holder screw
		c Needle clamp screw
		Hold the quilting foot in place with your right
		chand, and then tighten the presser foot holder
		screw using the screwdriver in your left hand.
