En outre, certains tireurs chargent leurs propres munitions ayant des caractéristiques balistiques uniques. Si vous ne trouvez pas la charge que vous utilisez dans le tableau des balistiques, vous pouvez toutefois utiliser la fonction de chute de balle du télémètre laser. Comme expliqué plus haut, zérotez votre fusil sur 100 yards/ 100 m. Puis tirez avec le fusil, sans ajuster la lunette de visée du télémètre, à 300 mètres. Mesurez la chute de balle par rapport au point de visée. Sur la base de cette valeur de chute, sélectionnez le groupe balistique suivant le tableau ci-dessous. Si vous tirez sur des distances plus longues il sera préférable que vous mesuriez la chute de balle à 500 mètres. En raison des énormes variations en termes de barillets, de canons, et de charges manuelles, il est conseillé que vous testiez le réglage balistique avant d’aller chasser. Vous devrez peut être monter ou descendre d’un groupe en fonction des résultats obtenus.
