SmartSwitch ATM Switch Differences Introduction

1.2 SMARTSWITCH ATM SWITCH DIFFERENCES

Not all features are supported on all SmartSwitch ATM switches. The SmartSwitch 6500 has capabilities that are not

supported by the other SmartSwitch ATM switches. The following is a list of capabilities supported by the

SmartSwitch 6500 only:

•PVPs

•Soft PVPs (all SmartSwitch ATM switches support soft PVCs)

•BUS logical multicasting

•Switch redundancy and automatic fail-over

•Network clocking

Note It is clearly stated within the text of this User Guide whether a particular feature

is supported only by the SmartSwitch 6500.
