CHAPTER 4

LOCAL MANAGEMENT

This chapter provides information on the HSIM-G screens accessible via the Local Management of the host platform. One Local Management screen is specific to the HSIM-G, which is detailed in this chapter. All other screens are detailed in the Local Management manual for the host platform, and are not covered in this manual. Refer to the host platform’s manual for detailed information on the other screens.

NOTE

Refer to the host platform user’s guide to establish a Local Management connection. Refer to Section 1.5 for details on accessing host platform manuals.

Make sure that the following requirements have been met before accessing the HSIM-G through Local Management:

The HSIM-G is installed in the host platform.

The host platform is powered up and operational.

A Local Management terminal is properly configured and connected to the host interface module or standalone device in which the HSIM-G resides.

4.1NAVIGATING LOCAL MANAGEMENT SCREENS

In order to view the specific Local Management screen for the HSIM-G, you must navigate through a series of Local Management screens via the host platform. Figure 4-1shows a typical hierarchy of screens that you may have to navigate through in order to reach the HSIM-G screens. The screen names shown in boldface indicate a typical path you would take.

NOTE

Figure 4-1is only an example of how the HSIM-G screen may be accessed. Refer to the host platform documentation for a detailed definition of the other screens.
